Abstract

Rule concerns what is right and what is not right to do. The rules are studied in the scope of morality and currently also from social knowledge. The present study aims to evaluate the judgment and justifications of children, adolescents and adults regarding rules in family and school contexts. In addiction, identify the domains (moral, conventional, personal and prudential) that are going be presented in the justifications of the judgments and the criteria that compose the judgments (alterability, generability, contingency of rule to authority and severity of rule or act). The total sample will be 464 participants, consisting of children (4 to 12 years old) with typical and atypical development, adolescents (13 to 17 years) and adults. The instruments are going to be a sociodemographic questionnaire and a structured questionnaire, whose questions concerns about the criteria of judgment and justifications for rule in family and school context. The results are going to be analyzing quantitatively through the described and inferential statistics revealing the presence and absence of the criteria of judgments and qualitatively in order to allow the categorization on domains, as well as to create a Coding System of rules for the Brazilian culture from the justification of judgments. It is also, expected to know how to constitute the rules in the Brazilian context, the differences in terms of age, socio-economic level and religion. (AU)
