Abstract

Piaget (1944) explains that the educative relation that had a unilateral character (characterized by the adult coercion) results in heteronomy. In the other hand, the relations of mutual respect (characterized by the cooperation) promote the autonomy. In a previous project, we had diagnostic that in a Institutional shelter at inland of São Paulo State the predominant relation lived there is the unilateral respect. In this relation the children and adolescents don't partake of the elaboration of the rules and they are not stimulate to discuss the why of the fulfilment of them, they only fulfil the rules to avoid the chastisement. These children are in the heteronomy stage; in this way, the predominant moral judgments in the shelters is the more primitive form of retributive justice (expiatory sanction), With this project we aim promote actions with the children and adolescents of that institution, in partnership with the officers, with the propose of construct a favorable environment to the moral development and, like this, to promote relations of cooperation and mutual respect between adults and children and between own children, to attempt to the elaboration and conscientious fulfilment of the rule of coexistence. Hence, we believe that the formation of autonomy and responsible individual could be guaranteed. (AU)
