Abstract

Introduction: changes in health education are being stimulated, due to the need for professionals prepared to act in the resolution of current problems and in accordance with scientific and technological advances. Therefore, the National Curricular Guidelines have been proposing the use of active teaching-learning methodologies. Objective: to understand the possibilities of learning of freshman and sophomore students of Nursing and Medical School from their insertion in the professional practice. Method: the research will be developed in the Medical School of Marília, in the Professional Practices Units, in two stages: in the first, a Research-Action based on Social Representations Theory will be developed, through the follow-up of two groups of 12 students, in the period of one year. The data will be obtained from field journal entries and records of students' portfolios. In addition, interviews will be conducted with the 24 students, 10 teachers and 08 permanent education facilitators. The data will be interpreted by the Content Analysis, thematic modality. In the second stage, a quantitative instrument (questionnaire) will be developed, based on the most frequent variables of the interviews, to be applied to all freshman and sophomore students (20 groups with 12 students each) and with the 40 teachers who follow the activities of the groups. Expected results: to provide subsidies for health education and to strengthen professional practices as triggers of the teaching-learning process of Nursing and Medical students as recommended by the National Curricular Guidelines.
