Abstract

In this project the development of a high level computer code for optimization of structural risk is proposed. For optimization of structural risk, we understand the establishment of optimum levels of safety, control and maintenance for a given structural system, in order to maximize the profit obtained with operation of the system. This analysis is based in the monetary quantification of the consequences of structural failure, as well as in the evaluation of failure probabilities. (AU)
