Abstract

This work describes the preparation and electrochemical application of a carbon nanotube electrode modified or graphite powder with reticulated-chitosan for determination of heavy metals in watewaters using anodic or cathodic stripping square wave voltammetry. Chitosan sintetized from b-chitin with high deacetylation degree will be employed for accumulation of Cd (II), Cu(II), Hg2(II) and/or Hg(II)ions. After sistematic studies for several experimental parameters such as pH of supporting electrolyte, time and potential of accumulation and scan rate, samples of watewaters will be evaluated using the proposed sensors and the results compared with an official method.
