Abstract

This research aims to make the critical reconstruction of the thought of Antonio Gramsci, particularly the Quaderni del carcere (1929-37), investigating the place occupied in the writings of the author of today call the "dependency" and "development." Our main hypothesis is that Gramsci had, since mid-1930, an acute awareness on the problem of "dependent development". Another hypothesis is that the plan would be the method and basic concepts Gramscian approach, enable us to consider problems and issues beyond the formulations dependent, for example, the relationship between cultural processes, development and hegemony. For verification of our hypotheses, follow their own methodological left by the author to understand and examine their work: read their texts in the flow only partly structured (the writings of prison) in which they were conceived, throwing light on the subject of this research. From the comparison of these writings, it is believed to be some considerations with respect to the objectives and issues raised by this research.
