Abstract

The research aims to expand the knowledge about the influence of color application in the visual of journalism texts, investigating specifically its use in the 2010 presidential campaign coverage. The magazines Veja and Istoé represent an appropriate field for such research, because, among other reasons, by the fact they often have large amounts of color in their cover images, so that they become important tools of meaning. The author of this project wants to develop visuality studies in political journalism, with particular emphasis on the color effects. The work purposes to deep the studies of color in different areas, emphasizing the cultural and the interdisciplinary nature of the shades, with an approach that goes beyond the conceptuals visions of color definition parameters, reaching its readers perception and interpretation, through the explanation of syntactic and semantic relations, proper of a communicably use.
