Abstract

The obesity epidemic affects several extracts of the world population, and because of adverse events linked to this disease, resulting from increased body weight, percentage of body fat, associated to food errors, predisposes to increased risk of developing chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and other diseases, which incidence accompanies the ascent of obesity and increased risk of morbidity and mortality. Together to the genesis of factors associated with obesity, it speculated that the magnesium (Mg) deficiency, increasingly demonstrated in population studies, can be a key factor to increase the potential risks of disorders resulting from obesity, which, as obesity, commonly, are accompanied by a marked inflammatory response. In this study is aimed to evaluate the effects of exposure to different concentrations of dietary Mg on insulin resistance and inflammatory response in rats fed high-fat diet. First, will be a pilot study to test the high-fat diet. After, other rats will be exposed to the different concentrations of dietary Mg associated a high-fat diet, and evaluated parameters of inflammatory response and insulin resistance, and the assessment of the Mg status through different compartments.
