Abstract

In referring to the new nanostructured materials applied in electrochemistry,large variety of devices have been developed for application in sensors and biosensors, fuel cells and catalysts, including those using biological molecules.For example, the new hybrid devices involving inorganic materials / organic and biomolecules, several specific substances may be studied as a function of molecular architecture used in the interface electrode / electrolyte. Recent studies in bioeletrochemistry indicate that molecular architecture leads to devices used increasingly sensitive and selective, where a chemical species and biocatalytic reactions can be optimized. In this context, this project aims to Masters study the activity biocatalytic enzymes alcohol oxidase (AOX) and glucose oxidase (GOx) when immobilized on the surface of an electrode of ITO (glass covered with oxide tin and indium) modified with organic polyelectrolytes, where nanoparticles of gold (AuNp) will be used in order to create an interface capable of electroactive promote the transfer of cargo between the enzyme cofactor and the electrode surface.Several strategies will be adopted for the preparation of electrodes, as described in throughout the project. With this work plan is to contribute to understanding of new immobilized enzyme systems in the presence of nanocomposites.Furthermore, the project will allow the candidate improve their knowledge, when will contact with new laboratory techniques for the synthesis of nanostructures, and use techniques for characterization of biomaterials and nanostructured materials.
