Abstract

This research aims to describe and characterize four poetic genres practiced by Pindar: hyporchema, prosodion, parthenion and encomion. It also attempts to analyze the survivors fragments of these genres, make a detailed commentary and translation of each of them and investigate their ranking by ancient and modern editors.
