Abstract

This project seeks to discuss how the police, medical and legal speech is collaborating with the definition and regulation of gender behavior. It is intended to shed light on the political mechanisms of control that involves and often restrict women's bodies and individuals' sexuality. For this, it becomes necessary to turn our eyes to the violence which women are systematically submitted to and whose ways - direct or indirect, socio-economic or political, individual or collective, private or public - expressing not only a breach of the law, but especially the maintenance of a way of conceiving the world. In this context, the thought of Foucault (1981) presents itself as a vital tool for reflection on the conditions under which it gives control of the bodies in the social environment. Thus, seeking to understand the normative character of discourses, through sociological analysis on the issue of symbolic control of behavior and socially constructed gender, this research will use field observations as the entities that comprise the Rede Mulher de Marília.
