Abstract

The studies on moral development based on Kohlberg's theory led to the construction of some instruments for assessing the moral judgments that have been used in Brazil as well as in several other countries. Among these instruments, we highlight the Moral Judgment Test - MJT that means to measure the development of moral competence, that is, the ability to act according to principles. This project aims to assess the level of moral competence in undergraduate education, examining the opportunities offered in the Political Pedagogical Project of the institution so that students develop the ability to assume responsibilities and to guided reflection, conditions for the construction of that competence. We will evaluate the student in the first and last years of undergraduate course of a public institution of São Paulo. This project is characterized as a subproject of another ongoing funded by CNPq.
