Abstract

To understand the complex physical processes and your influence in water quality motivated the accomplishment of this project. Thus, the objective is developed a methodology to study the reservoir's circulation dynamics and water quality. For this, we were utilizing the remote sensing and numerical modeling tools. The remote sensing is a reconnaissance tool to estimate the water quality variables by means of satellite image in continuous and spatial distribution form. The numerical models allow to represent and simulating the reservoir's hydrodynamics (circulation) in the space and time using equations and physical laws. This research intends to show that a numerical modeling can enhance the remote sensing potential for study the aquatic systems. Because the investigation does not stay only in the determination of water quality spatial distribution, making possible to promote information about causes of these spatial distributions that was observed by satellite images.
