Abstract

The intermediate cities have been widely studied because of its new features and its growing role in Brazilian urban network. However, in view of migration commuting the focus of the research has largely fallen on metropolitan areas, arguably the scene of heavy commuting flows. This paper is, in short, to analyze the centrality of Presidente Prudente from commuting, contributing to the understanding of how this phenomenon occurs in an intermediate city, a reference in a context of regional cities of lesser size and centrality, components of the administrative area of Presidente Prudente, and even in other analytical scales.
