Abstract

This proposed PhD project aims to develop a framework for exploration and extraction of relevant information from multimodal, or heterogeneous, data supported by information visualization techniques. This framework must support the exploration of large datasets in analytical process which the user has a central role and may interact with the graphical representations generated to embed in the results obtained your knowledge or point of view. Among the heterogeneous datasets that will be considered, our goal is centered in those do not have explicit relations between their data instances, as these will be defined as part of the exploration process. Since the framework has been developed, methods of quantitative and qualitative evaluations will be conducted with users in order to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed.
