Abstract

In the communication and technological scenario of the 21th century, this research analyzes the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), particularly of collaborative online environments, for cultural heritage preservation and dissemination. The study case is the ancient group called 30 People of the Missions (which reaches part of the territories of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay). This research proposes the study of literature and of examples of heritage and digital media use (in Brazil and abroad) and the organization of a network of researchers about this subject. Our purpose is to develop guidelines for creating a collaborative online system that potentiates heritage registration, preservation, dissemination and appropriation, allowing dialogue and complementation of researchers knowledge each other and with the community. The main objective of this study is to collect elements to discuss the role of collaborative interfaces in cultural heritage preservation and in its appropriation by society. It includes analyzing the use of digital media for creation and operation of heritage databases and understanding the communication process and relationship among information / interface / user for the purpose of evaluate the use of online learning environments as an enhanced resource for conservation and awareness about heritage and as a tool for dissemination, exchange and collective construction of knowledge on the subject.
