Abstract

The search for "clean" technologies to obtain products of industrial interest, involving the use of alternative raw materials, reduction on energy use and on effluents production, has been driven by environmental issues and are mostly economically advantageous . Within this context research on the use of lignocellulosic wastes in bioprocesses stand out, particularly in the cultivation of microorganisms producing cellulases, hemicellulases and ligninases. These enzymes have potential for various biotechnological applications, especially in recent years the disintegration and hydrolysis of lignocellulosic material to obtain fermentable sugars, which can be converted into second-generation ethanol. Thus, the prospect of microorganisms producing these enzymes is necessary not only for obtaining biocatalysts that have suitable characteristics for industrial processes to which they are intended, but also for knowledge and exploration of microbial biodiversity. Thus, this proposal involves the isolation of thermophilic/thermotolerant filamentous fungi producers of cellulases and xylanases, selection of the strain that stand out in the production of enzymes (taking into account not only the amount of enzyme produced, but also features like activity at high temperature, thermal stability, low inhibition by hydrolysis products and ethanol) and, finally, the evaluation of enzymatic extract effectiveness in the saccharification of in natura and pretreated with microwaves and glycerol sugarcane bagasse.
