Abstract

The tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is a fish that has been widely cultivated for their excellent animal performance and adaptation to different breeding systems. However there is little research on the cultivation of this species, information needs to improve the conditions of cultivation and increase the economic return of activity. As the stocking density and food important factors in the cultivation of fish, this study aims to evaluate the economic indices of production and participation of plankton in the cultivation of tambaqui in ponds with different stocking densities. Will be studied three stocking rates (T1: 2 fish / m², T2: 3 fish / m, T3: 4 fish / m²) with three blocks in a randomized block design, and, based on sampling with periodic repetitions within blocks will evaluate the production performance, certain production costs and profitability of farming and also the participation of plankton in the fish biomass produced during cultivation.
