Abstract

Correlations between partitions of a quantum system play a fundamental conceptual and practical role in quantum information. Interesting enough, besides entanglement there are nonclassical correlations in separable (nonentangled) states. This kind of quantumness may be reveled by the so-called quantum discord. Nowadays, there is a big program concerning the relations between such generalized correlation and the quantum advantage in some protocols and tasks such as: quantum information processing, quantum metrology, thermal machines at quantum scales, etc& The present research plan is about this kind of nonclassical correlations. We will focus our attention on two main issues: (I) new routes for determination and quantification of such correlations. (II) We also would like to use the tools developed in the first item to study the role of these generalized quantum correlations in the relaxation possess of a many body system, immersed in some specific environments.
