In this project we propose to study the application of niobium compounds in multicomponents reactions, verifying in details the effect of temperature and molar concentration of these reactants on those reactions. The comparisons of the yields and the reaction time of the niobium compounds used with other reactants will also be a fundamental point in the research.The reactions we propose to study in this work are the reactions for the preparation of functionalized piperidines, abundant compounds in nature and that present a great farmacological interest, having applications as anti-hypertensive, antibacterial, anticonvulsing and anti-inflammatory drugs. We propose in this project the using of different Niobium compounds to obtain this derivatives, through the reaction between derivatives of aniline, benzaldehyde and ²-keto-ésters. The Niobium compounds that are targets of our study are: Nb(OEt)5 and its chiral derivatives, using different chiral terpenic alcohols as enantioselective helpers.
