Abstract

The main objective of this project is to evaluate the contamination of water bodies, soils and sediments of orange crops with pesticides, namely glyphosate and deltamethrin. For this monitoring will be done prior to the type of crop used in areas near the collection sites in order to know the need for more monitoring of pesticides. Samples of water and sediments occur in at least two periods, one during the dry season and another in the rainy season and two of them, should the need arise, a total of four samples. Determination of the physicochemical parameters of water such as pH, temperature, color, turbidity and electrical conductivity will be performed on the samples in situ. In samples of sediment and soil, pH and organic matter content will be determined, among others. The extraction of pesticides in water will be based on solid phase extraction using C18 cartridges. For extraction of pesticides in sediment Soxhlet technique or ultrasound will be used, depending on the characteristics of the analytes, always giving priority to green solvents. In contaminated soils, remediation will be done by adding vermicompost and the subsequent evaluation process. The main equipment available in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry, which will be used for the determination of pesticides in this project are: a gas chromatograph coupled to mass spectrometer Shimadzu, model QP 2010 Plus gas chromatograph Shimadzu GC-2010, with capture detector electrons GC / ECD and high liquid chromatograph (HPLC) Shimadzu LC-10.
