Abstract

The project aims to investigate the evaluation practices employed by University teachers to make the learning of their students in the course of pedagogy of the University of São Paulo since 1938 - year of its creation - until the present day, also contribute to the recovery of elements that are part of history, culture and memory of this institution. We seek to understand how teachers build their criteria of excellence and how they are employed in teaching, evaluation of learning and training carried out in higher education. Within the framework of this study, we think mainly in division of the period investigated in four times.The initial period, marked by the year 1938, in which the Pedagogy Course was created; as an intermediate stage in the history of the institution, the decade of 60 and more particularly the year of 1968, in which there was the University reform, until 1970, when the Faculty of Education became operational; the decade of 80, when there was a significant increase in the total number of seats in undergraduate courses; and the current moment, the year of 2011. With respect to the methodology adopted for the development of the study of the initial period of the institution, we intend to examine the annuals, the works memorialistics and USP's documents, with the goal of understanding and retrieving assessment of learning practices employed by the teachers at that time. For the realization of research in the moments following, in addition to the above sources, will be conducted interviews with teachers and students who attended the institution. In this way seeks to conduct a study that has a historical character and focusing also on the current time.
