Abstract

With the advent of capitalism and industrialization, the volume of waste generated in various manufacturing processes has increased considerably, leading to the academic community to enter into their research projects, focused on sustainability with the variables linked to waste and its environmental impact, in view of the different possibilities for reuse. Within this context, the purpose of this research is to manufacture a product with innovative features and, at the same time, making its characterizations physics and mechanics. This product is composed of the bagasse of sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum) reinforced with leaves shredded bamboo species Dendrocalamus giganteus. The choice of bagasse as a research aims to make use of one of the most abundant waste in Brazil, from the fact that this country is the world's largest producer of cane sugar, an amount estimated at 416.256 million tons year. Produce will be sheets of homogeneous particles in five different lines - 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 0% - from sugarcane bagasse, properly treated, in relation to the total weight of the composites, complete with leaves crushed bamboo. These plates will be evaluated by test ingrecommended in the standard NBR 14810-3 - Chapas de madeira aglomerada - Parte 3: Métodos de Ensaio (2002), in relation to density, swelling in thickness, moisture content, internal compliance, resistance bending, tensile and pullout of screws, thus aiming to choose the best line for future application in plates for the construction and, eventually, to the furniture industry.
