Abstract

This project aims to study the press writings of Marcel Proust from a perspective that reinsert them in the media context in which they were born. These articles, especially those that were published during the most fertile years of his activity in the press (1892-1913), will be interpreted with the help of a detailed study of the particular logic of the media support in question. This particular logic is present not only in the Proustian writing itself (which seems to show an accurate awareness of the specificity of the press, of its themes, styles, etc.), but also in some recent theoretical works in literary studies, which will be the basis for our thesis, for they seek to point the textual and historical problems of what can be called "journalism poetics". Therefore, we intend to analyze how M. Proust was involved in the writing system of the press - to what extent he followed it and to what extent he crossed it - so that we can have a better understand of this important part of his work.
