Abstract

Many scientific studies discuss the importance of physical activity in health promotion, quality of life, and prevention of chronic diseases. But the literature is vast and controversial as regards the practice of physical activity during pregnancy and its effects on the newborn, being that many authors place physical activity during pregnancy as a risk factor for events such as inconsistent weight at birth, abortion, and prematurity. Goals: Studying the association between physical activity level during pregnancy and adverse outcomes of newborns (prematurity and low weight), the cohort of 2010 of Ribeirão Preto/SP; study the distribution of the physical activity level in pregnancy in this cohort; Verify that there is an association between level of physical activity on pregnancy and delivery type.(AU)
