Abstract

Among chronic non-communicable diseases, cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Since lifestyle contributes to the development of such diseases, the role of diet in the genesis and prevention of these has been widely studied. Thus, it is essential to gauge the effect of cardiovascular risk by diet, mainly through the consumption of lipids. Objective: To associate the consumption of lipids with the Framingham risk score in adults. Methods: 50 individuals will be assessed / group of cardiovascular risk (low, intermediate, and high) classified according to the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) of both sexes and aged between 30 and 74 years. From this sample, we will evaluate the socio-economic and clinical, food intake (24-hour dietary recall) and biochemical parameters (cholesterol and triglyceride and HDL cholesterol). Expected Results: From this study, it is possible to relate the consumption of lipids with the risk for cardiovascular disease and to identify dietary components that favor or not the emergence of such diseases.(AU)
