Abstract

Since the enactment of the 1988 Constitution, which established the duty of the State with the education of children 0-6 years, various laws and documents, and research have been published to define and guide the work being developed in Early Childhood Education. This research aims to investigate the knowledge that the teachers and the management of a school for kindergarten have about the Criteria for Care at a Day Care that Respects the Fundamental Rights of Children (CAMPOS; ROSEMBERG, 2009). This is a project linked to a larger study in progress, which investigates knowledge of Early Childhood Education professionals on the various laws and documents published since the 1980s. The research, qualitative, will be carried out from August 2012 to July 2013 in an Early Childhood Education Center located on campus at a public university located in São Paulo. The subjects are six teachers and a manager of that school. Data will be collected through interviews, questionnaires and observations of everyday life at school. Data analysis will occur from the following sources of analysis: 1 - knowledge of Early Childhood Education professionals about the Criteria for Care at a Day Care that Respects the Fundamental Rights of Children (CAMPOS; ROSEMBERG, 2009), 2 - sources of acquisition of knowledge of Early Childhood Education professionals on the document, 3 - interference of such knowledge in the constitution of the identities of Early Childhood Education professionals and their practices.(AU)
