Abstract

Carlos Drummond de Andrade produced extensive literary works (prose and poetry) of great repercussion in Brazil, which usually deals with everyday issues with a simple vocabulary. His texts and poems, however, have a universal dimension, since it encompasses philosophical thoughts that define human existence. His work has been translated into other languages, like English, Dutch and French, which allowed access to a greater number of readers to their texts. Accordingly, this project proposes to survey the work of Brazilian poet translated in France, which greatly influenced Drummond in various aspects, related texts and their reception in the French language, particularly in France.
