Abstract

This project aims to bring a contribution investigating the interaction between the complexes [Ru2O (carb) 2 (py) 6] (PF6) 2 (carb = NSAIDs ibuprofen and ketoprofen) _candidates _ metallodrugs and biomolecules, specifically in the case of this application, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human albumin (HSA). This project presents itself as a continuation of a previous project of Undergraduate Research that was also funded by FAPESP in the form of a grant (process number 2010/02717-1, Fellow Gabriela C. Seuanes). In the first stage of research, the binuclear ruthenium carboxylates of general formula [Ru2O (carb) 2 (py) 6] (PF6) 2 (carb = NSAIDs ibuprofen and ketoprofen), were synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry techniques, NMR spectroscopy, UV-visible and infra-red, cyclic voltammetry and elemental analysis. At this time, aimed at finalizing the first stage of research and possibly the production of the first scientific study of the group addressing this class of compounds, we intend to investigate other variables of interest in terms of the production of metallodrugs candidates, namely, its hospitalization with albumin. The study will focus on the spectroscopy of luminescence, by investigating the possible suppression of the luminescence of the tryptophan residues by the complex in question. This removal must be assessed by the curves and Stern-Volmer constants apparent adduct formation - protein complex also be determined.(AU)
