Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the biochemical profile, the proteinogram and somatic cell count (SCC) of milk samples from 15 Murrah buffalo, heifers and pluriparous, which will be monitored monthly for a complete lactation (270 days). Before collecting samples of milk will be performed a physical examination of the mammary gland, test screened mug of dark background and California Mastitis Test (CMT) for the diagnosis of clinical or subclinical mastitis. After sterilization of the teats, are collected, specimens of 50 ml of milk from each quarter breast, into sterilized jars and without a preservative, for determining the biochemical and for protein fractionation in polyacrylamide gels containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS-PAGE) and in sterile plastic bottles containing bronopol to perform the somatic cell count (SCC), an automatic counter.
