This study aims to evaluate the serum biochemical profile, with an emphasis on acute phase proteins and immunoglobulins of healthy Murrah buffalo calves neonates. Blood serum samples of 50 animals Murrah derived from a farm producing milk in the municipality of Sarapuí-SP will be examined. The buffalo calves will be divided into two experimental groups of 25 animals each, according to the number of calvings from their mothers: G1 (calves of primiparous buffaloes) and G2 (multiparous buffalo calves). Sampling of venous blood samples will be held at the following times: at birth (T0), at 24 (M1), 48h (M2) and 72h after birth (M3) and 7 (M4), 14 (M5), 21 (M6) and 30 days of age (M7) for determination of serum activities of Gamaglutamiltranferase Enzymes (GGT), Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) and Creatine Kinase (CK) and serum concentrations of total protein, albumin, iron, total calcium, ionized calcium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium. Serum concentrations of acute phase proteins and immunoglobulins will be determined by electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS-PAGE). The values obtained will be analyzed by Tukey test after checking the homogeneity of the samples. The significance will be verified at 5% probability. (AU)
