Abstract

Enzymes play important biological roles in nature and as a consequence new methodologies that can positively influence their activity are being extensively studied in recent years. Metal nanoparticles are widely used as support for enzymes, so as to bring benefits to make the enzyme more stable and resistant to various transformations, and can increase the enzyme activity. Given these advantages, we are proposing this project to investigate the phenomena that can positively affect the enzyme activity when you change the interface nanoparticle-lipase. These enzymes will be immobilized using methods that can provide their covalent attachment to the nanoparticle. To obtain an enzyme / nanoparticle atttachment will be performed several studies, such as the use of different organic spacer, amount of nanoparticles and enzyme, as well as time and temperature parameters. The enzyme activity will be evaluated in terms of enantioselectivity and conversion for the transesterification reaction. It is also intended in this paper reuse the immobilized enzyme in different reactions, aimed at recycling.
