Abstract

This project aims at labeling intracellular C6 cells with magnetic nanoparticles for subsequent study of the process of quantification of magnetic nanoparticles internalized into cells. To quantify this process will be developed a graphical interface that will facilitate the analysis of data obtained by the technique of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Thus, the project will be divided into three stages: the first step is the culture of C6 cells and their subsequent labeling cells with magnetic nanoparticles. The second stage corresponds to phantoms in the preparation of labeled cells in agarose and suspended for later obtaining T1 weighted images and T2, respectively, by the technique of MRI. The third step will be to develop software with a graphical interface to the process of quantification of internalized nanoparticles in cells. This step is performed to acquire the images obtained from the Magnetic Resonance unit, then fit the relaxation curves by the method of least squares. It will be realized in the calculation of the parameters R1, R2, R1, and R2. Finally, after obtaining all the parameters will be developed in the same graphical user interface the process of quantifying the process of magnetic nanoparticles internalized into cells. The importance of this project is because it would somehow answer questions like the following that have not been clearly answered: What is the relationship between signal intensity and the number of labeled cells? How many cells can be detected in vivo? As the signal is related to cell proliferation and migration? This project will be developed in the Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology Institute of Education and Research (IIEP) of the Albert Einstein Hospital.(AU)
