Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the effect of selenium, vitamin E and canola oil on feed efficiency, meat quality, activity of glutathione peroxidase and glutathione peroxidase gene expression of 1 and 4, reductase, synthase, nuclear factor erythroid Nrf2; delta-9 desaturase, SREBP-1c and HMG-CoA reductase. Forty-eight Nellore allocated to calan gate in the Department of Animal Science FZEA Pirassununga-USP, SP will be divided into four groups: Control (C) basal diet; Control + Antioxidants (C + A): addition of 2 , Se and 5 mg of vitamin E 500 IU / kg DM, Control + oil (C + O): addition of 3% canola oil / kg DM, oil and antioxidants (O + a): addition of 3% canola oil, 2.5 mg Se and 500 IU vitamin E / kg DM. Will be monitored daily dry matter intake and at weeks 0, 4, 8 and 12 will be weighed and have blood drawn to assess glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, selenium, vitamin E. At the end of the experiment, will be slaughtered, weighed, measured color, ribeye area, fat thickness and will be collected samples of liver, muscle (L. dorsi) and subcutaneous adipose tissue for analysis of Se, vitamin E, TBARS, profile fatty acids, cholesterol, softness, activity and gene expression of glutathione, the gene expression of Nrf2, delta-9-desaturase, SREBP-1c, and HMG-CoA reductase. The design is of a completely randomized design and the data will be analyzed by SAS PROC 5% significance level.
