Abstract

The technology development of advanced polymeric composites has as one of its functions the union of materials that combine characteristics such as high strengthen stiffness combined with low density. The combination of the advanced composite feature results from the addition of reinforcement fibers that make thermo attractive for application in the aerospace industry. In recent years several special thermoplastic matrices and high performance have been studied for use in the manufacture of advanced composites, because they have advantages such as longer storage of raw materials, ease of repair and recyclability compared thermoset composites. One of the main problems of using polymer composites in structural applications in your marriage is effective for integrating components. In this regard, recent studies show that the technique of electrical resistance welding isone of the most promising for bonding composites, as a quick method because it requires little surface preparation. This project aims to optimizer and characterizing the electrical resistance welding for laminates PPS [poly (phenylene sulfide)] reinforced with fiberglass with aeronautical applications. For this purpose, the parameters will be evaluated as the most appropriate time, electric current and pressure to be used in the welding process. The material characterization soldiers will be accomplished through mechanical testing, thermal analysis and morphological analysis. This project will contribute to the development of technologies for national use and industrial-scale manufacture of this product of interest mainly from the aeronautics field.
