Abstract

Introduction: The professional nurse is exposed to numerous risks in your workplace, including biohazards. Thus, it is necessary adherence to preventive measures such as standard precautions. Thus, it is important that the assessment of professionals' adherence to precaution in his practice. Specific instruments have been built, however, are mostly in English. Objective: the cultural adaptation of Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale (CSPS) for nursing professionals in Brazil. Material and Methods: This is a quantitative methodological study which will be developed at the State Hospital Public Servant (HSPE) in the city of São Paulo / SP.. Will be used Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale (CSPS) constructed and adapted by Lam (2011), consisting of 20 items that evaluates compliance with standard precautions by nursing professionals. Will use the method proposed by Guillemin, Bombardier, Beaton (1993) in carrying out the process of cultural adaptation. The study population will consist of nurses working in patient care and will be interviewed in their workplace. Descriptive statistical analysis will be performed to characterize the subjects. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 19.0 will be used and its specific module Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS IBM ® SPSS ®) for the confirmatory factor analysis. The significance level is ± = 0.05.
