Abstract

The aim of this project is to study filtering problems for dynamical systems subject to uncertainties and nonlinearities. The class of models that will be investigated encompasses several particular cases such as linear parameter varyingsystems, linear systems with saturation and nonlinearities, quadratic systems and polynomial systems. The H_2 and H_infinity norms will be used as performance criteria for both continuous-time and discrete time-systems. Extensions to cope with the presence of time-delays and structural constraints also will be investigated. As methodology, parameter dependent Lyapunov functions and linear matrix inequalities will be used. (AU)
