Abstract

Nowadays it creates and improves dental restorative materials constantly in order to better durability and aesthetics. Furthermore, it has sought new substances that provide better oral health and that do not interfere with the properties of restorative materials. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of a solution containing as an active principle the essential oil of Casearia Sylvestris associated with red wine on the surface roughness and color change of a composite resin. Sixty specimens (6mm X 2mm) will be made with a composite resin (Z250, 3M ESPE) and polished after 24 hours in an oven at a temperature of 37 ± 1 ° C with Sof Lex. After the preparation, they will be divided into 3 groups (n = 20) to be immersed for 14 days in S1- chlorhexidine 0.12%, S2- based solution of essential oil of Casearia Sylvestris, and S3-distilled water. After each immersion, the specimens are submitted to solutions pigments (n = 10): AP1 - Wine and AP2 - distilled water. The readings of color and surface roughness will be performed in two stages: L1, after preparation of test specimens, and L2 after 14 days of immersion. The results will be evaluated following the concepts of classical statistics, after exploratory data analysis.(AU)
