Abstract

This study will evaluate the effects of replacement of corn by sorghum, including or not exogenous enzymes as phytase, protease and xylanase in broiler chicken diets. Two trials will be conducted, an assay to evaluate performance, relative organs weight and economic viability, and a metabolism assay. The design adopted will be completely randomized in a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement (levels of replacement of corn by sorghum x inclusion or not of exogenous enzymes). The treatments consist of 0% of sorghum; 0% of sorghum and exogenous enzymes; 50% of sorghum; 50% of sorghum and exogenous enzymes; 100% of sorghum; 100% of sorghum and exogenous enzymes. Sorghum inclusion will be in replacement of corn and all isonutritional diets fed ad libitum. Performance will be determined by weight gain, feed conversion and feed consumption, and relative weight of proventriculus, gizzard, small and large intestines, liver and pancreas will be setted at 42 days of age. Economic viability will consider one-day old broiler chicks, feed, poultry litter and a fixed value to the treatments related to broiler kilogram costs, according to spreadsheet of Associação Paulista de Avicultura (APA). Data will be analyzed by Tukey test at 5% of probability.
