Biosurfactants are amphiphilic compounds produced by living organisms. Bacillus subtilis produces surfactin, a natural powerful surface-active agent. Interest in its industrial and environmental applications constantly increases, however due to high production costs, its commercial use is impracticable. Agroindustrial wastes could be an alternative of low cost substrates, besides, the purification, in general, is the critical step in biotechnogical process and, in this case, represents about 80% of total cost of production. Therefore, the aim of this project is evaluate the lyophilization of cassava wastewater, followed of its rehydration and use as culture medium, besides, it includes the most current significant step in the field of production cost, in other words, downstream, which in this case will be ultrafiltration.
