Abstract

This project proposal consists of Research Internships Abroad (BEPE) scholarship for a period of 2 months at the Universidad Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real, Spain as part of the undergraduate research scholarship project. The undergraduate research project consists on studies of modeling, development of algorithms and solution methods for the electrical power systems analysis and optimization problems. The solution methods that have been analyzed are the classical ones such as Simplex, Dual Simplex, algorithms for mixed-integer problems such as branch and bound and metaheuristic algorithm such as Tabu Search. For the internship abroad the objective is to explore new power systems models and problems with an increase on the complexity. As part of the tasks is the mastering of optimization programs like gams to in order to validate the studies. (AU)
