Abstract

The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is growing not only in the military environment but also in civilian applications. One way to make these aircraft safer and more flexible is through the implementation and study of autopilots. These systems provide easy operation and can be performed with simple training since most of the running missions are autonomous. To achieve this goal, the project aims to play an autopilot, concerned mainly with the software of this system. Such implementation should have both control algorithms for stabilization of the aircraft and for the navigation, to allow the aircraft to following a predetermined route. With this study, it will be possible to compare different control algorithms and determine the best-operating conditions for these aircraft. (AU)
