Abstract

Currently biodiversity of marine ecosystems and freshwater species has been threatened, primarily by environmental problems, and the Batalha River that belongs to the Middle Tietê and travels about 167 km is a sample environment which has been suffering from various anthropogenic actions. Its source is located in the Sierra Jacutinga (Treble-SP) flowing into the river Tietê. Misuse and occupation by activities in its drainage area (crop, forestry and livestock) have reduced the native forest and riparian, triggering changes in the quality of its waters and exhibition areas of the growing nascent processes of erosion areas land adjacent to the river, leading to siltation of its bed, and the pollution of its waters. Moreover, there are large industries in most cities bordering the Batalha River, which contribute to pollution of the river, beyond the fact that some cities treat only a percentage of its sewage, the rest being thrown in the river "in nature". This river is responsible for supplying 45% of the population Bauru. In recent years, the parasites have been recognized as important components of global biodiversity. Determine the integral role of parasites in natural ecosystems, identify hotspots of high parasite diversity, as well as areas of low diversity is crucial to the full knowledge of the functioning of the biosphere. Thus, the main objective of this project will be qualitatively and quantitatively diagnose the parasite communities of endoparasites of Acestrorhunchus lacustris (Lütken, 1875) in two stretches of the River Batalha, seeking to answer whether they are being influenced by different aquatic ecosystems (pond / channel) of this river.
