Abstract

The schools are aimed at education, which also implies the formation of citizens, should seek fairness and respect among people. As homophobia is frequently observed in the school environment, a more intimate should be conducted with teachers in order to promote reflection on the constructionsocio-historical-cultural sexuality and sexual repression that pervades. in that context, this research aims at translating and adapting to the Portuguese language. The scale of attitudes and beliefs of teachers about homosexuality and to evaluate its validity and precision. For data collection will be invited teachers, the third fourth, and fifth years, the municipal schools of the city of Assis-SP, which accept to participate and fill the whole questionnaire, composed by the scale Teachers' Attitudes and Beliefs about Homosexuality and sociodemographic questions. The scale will be translated, independently and simultaneously, by two scholars in the field, deriving ad raft. To test its accuracy, the instrument will be applied twice, with intervals of one month (test-retest) between them. Analysis of Variance is used to check for difference scores per year. To determine the accuracy will be used the Spearman correlation coefficient. psychometric assessments(discriminant validity, accuracy, and reliability) will also be held. It is expected to have an instrument adapted to Brazilian reality, which will enable raising teachers' attitudes and beliefs about homosexuality and thus support actions aimed at a fairer society and human rights.(AU)
