Abstract

Thinking about the social development of Brazil during the twentieth century relative to the economy, you can associate with this context the historical marginalization of the proletarian mass and precariousness of labor relations. This picture, produced by capitalist forms of production, effect of increasing the unemployment, because of the insertion of machinery in the field of work and the lack of specialization of the individuals to market, and the migration of workers for the informal sector of the economy. This process of exclusion removes this population from access to the systems of rights guarantee, leading to the creation of means of existences that influence social relationships, being among them, forms of family relationship and being one of its aspects, the impact on mental health of family members. Basing to the research area of Science, Technology and Society, guided by the production of technologies that consider the needs of the environment, of the individual and of the society, aiming at an integrated development, this study aims throw the investigative method called "life story", spoon reports about the life of the family group of collectors of a solidary popular cooperative in the city of São Carlos-SP, named COOPERVIDA, trying to observe these family relationships before and after insertion into an enterprise popular solidary. It is expected as a result of the analysis of the material collected, considering theoretical psychology socio-historical, field CTS, solidarity economy, social technology and mental health literatures, have indications about the influence of social work values under solidary economy in the mental health of scavengers and their families.
