Abstract

This project is to investigate how the professionals in charge of public attention to roamers conceive this way of life. It mainly identify images, representations and ideas disqualifying errancy or take that as a way of life that produces suffering or objectionable and that, therefore, must be avoided. Interests also understand how, by the look of professional social work, takes the figure of the "undesirable" from abroad, that needs to be moved to other spaces through public policy assistance. It will also map the appropriate spaces in the city operated or intended to homeless strangers such as overpasses, vacant lots, parks, alleys, abandoned stretches of old railways, among other practices and map the host and / or removal of said peripheral roamers in cities or inland. The research will be carried out in a city with about 90,000 inhabitants in the western region of São Paulo. This city is located on a major corridor for movement of roamers, formed by the intersection of trunk roads linking the northern Paraná State to the west and to the east of the state, where the capital is situated. The methodology is ethnography and participant observation in Psychology. We will monitor the work of the staff of the municipality, consisting of social workers, psychologists and mid-level officials, packed in reference Specialized Center of Social Assistance (CREAS) and the Migrant Assistance Unit (UAM), to observe the practices and discourses that build over roamers who come into town. Monitoring will occur at all stages of work, ranging from participation in team meetings to discuss cases and formulate strategies and approaches to the care provided in streets and public squares. In the end, the data obtained from the records of the monitoring team work will be analyzed with technical resources Analyze Content and discussed in light of the theoretical framework and the results of other research on the subject.
