Abstract

The problem of a network configuration of logistics is the specification of the structure along which the products flow. The networks reverse logistics post-consumer, however, are more complex due to the high capillarity of the starting points of collection, thus, they are not planned as the distribution networks. The present study aims to study the network of the aluminum reverse logistics, collect data and propose a mathematical programming model for this network configuration, based on models available in the literature. The research methodology to be used can be classified as a quantitative study descriptive empirical modeling. This is a classic methodology of Operational Research, which consists of well-structured steps for analysis and development of a proposed solution to a problem, in this case, reverse logistics post-consumer. The goal is to compare the proposed network by model, with the network by key stakeholders to identify areas for improvement. (AU)
