Abstract

The objective of this research is to differentiate transgenic and non-transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana´s leaves in terms of seleno-proteomic. This work will use 2D-HPLC-ICP-MS/MS for quantification and identification of selenium in protein´s leaves. Initially, proteins of Arabidopsis thaliana´s leaves will be extracted by using phenol extraction method, thereafter, the protein mass will be determined from Bradford´s method. Chromatographic separations of protein will be developed using a size exclusion chromatography (SEC) as first dimension, and then a second dimension will be included by using anion exchange chromatography (AIX). The identification of seleno-proteins previously separated will be made by UPLC-ESI-MS/MS.
