Abstract In Brazil, tropical grasses pasture is the base of beef cattle industry, them around the year animals can be submitted to multiple nutritional deficiencies, especially during the dry season. Thus, supplementation of the diet on pasture it is an important strategy in beef production systems. This study aims to evaluate intake and digestibility of forage and supplement, microbial protein synthesis, dynamic degradation of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), nitrogen balance diet, and ruminal parameters of growing Nellore steers supplemented at palisade grass (Brachiaria brizantha cv Marandu) pasture during the rainy season. Will be used 12 paddocks of palisade grass grazed at 15, 25 and 35 cm by cannulated steers in growing phase under continuous stocking with variable stocking rate during rainy season. Will be used the following supplementation strategies: mineral mixture, supplement at 0.3% of BW (body weight) in the pastures of 25 and 35 cm, supplement at 0.3 and 0.6% BW in pasture with 15 cm. The experimental design is a randomized block with two replications within block, totaling 12 animals and evaluation periods of 34 days as blocks. (AU) | |
