Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effects of two regional programs for family production in the rural region of Dracena, São Paulo State: The Food Acquisition Program (PAA) and the School Nutrition National Programme (PNAE). The accesses to governmental acquisition programs is a fundamental factor in ensuring the population permanence in rural areas and provide income and improved living conditions for this social segment. The research focuses the municipalities of Adamantina, Paulicéia and Tupi Paulista, where will be evaluated the extent and the importance of these programs to the rural family products. The choice of places is justified because, although they have guided the economy in trade and services sector, the agricultural activity plays an important role in the dynamics of local production. Moreover, the Dracena region has the presence of small farms in its agrarian structure. As a hypothesis, it is believed that the territory effects are relevant, mainly in cities where farmers participating of markets purchase of rural family production and to benefit producers less capitalized involving a larger number of entities, families and people in food vulnerable.
